Illuminatus 4.5 is a major new release of Digital Workshop's leading multimedia authoring package. This new release is more powerful and versatile than its predecessors, yet even easier to use. Five new program Wizards in Illuminatus 4.5 enable an extraordinarily wide range of users - from primary school children to multimedia professionals - to create high-impact interactive multimedia publications quickly and effectively without any programming at all. Other important new features include enhanced support for variables, three password-protected user levels, support for HTML 4, and password-protected access control to publications.
Illuminatus 4.5 allows users to combine video footage, animations, still images, sound and text quickly and easily into business presentations, training courses, instruction manuals, online catalogues and other interactive information products. It is supplied complete with a wide range of sample and template publications and over 10,000 copyright-free resources that enable users to build effective multimedia publications from scratch. These can be delivered to target audiences via standalone CD-ROMs, diskettes and screensavers, or published in Web format for viewing on Internet, intranet and extranet connections.
New features in Illuminatus 4.5:
*Illuminatus Wizards, which can be switched on and off as required, make the program's powerful facilities more easily accessible.
*Publication Wizard enables users to quickly create and name new Illuminatus publications and organise them into appropriate directories.
*Page Wizard creates the foundations of Illuminatus publications by providing users with a wide range of templates, backgrounds and page layouts from which to choose.
*Gallery Wizard lets users organise regularly-used Illuminatus publication components into libraries of easily retrieved, re-usable resources.
*Publish Wizard helps users select how the Illuminatus publication is to be distributed; for example, as a runtime program, a Windows screensaver or a Web page, distributed via CD-ROM, disk, an intranet, an extranet or the Internet.
*Questions Wizard creates simple question-and-answer dialogues in various formats - such as multiple choice, text based, or numerical based - and provides facilities to score each answer.
*Enhanced support for Web page production with HTML 4 compatibility.
*Enhanced support for variables includes variable validation, which allows users to perform logical operations with stored data; the ability to employ variables instead of absolute filenames; and facilitated use of compound conditions using AND, OR, etc.
*Three password-protected user levels are made available for teachers or administrators who want to control the level to which Illuminatus users work, enabling people who are new to the program to build up their skills gradually in a controlled manner.
Password protection prevents unauthorised access to entire Illuminatus publications or selected chapters within them, keeping confidential material away from prying eyes.
